Rotting logs and getting babes

💞baby I'll make your heart(wood) rot💞

🍃if you feed me your cellulose I'll have you falling for me and dying for me

🎨I am creative and versatile, and love dyeing fabrics and textiles everything from green, yellow, gold, and brown - I'm all about those earthy tones. Ask me about my knitting projects!🎨🧶🧐

I was first discovered in New Zealand in 1995 by Lloyd Esler - I was dating a Pinus radiata polycule at the time - but don't worry, we've broken up!

Swipe right if you want someone who will come back to you again and again. Breakups mean nothing to me

I've been in New Zealand for only 28 short years! Show me around? ✨✨✨

My basics
  • Kingdom: Fungi
  • Phylum: Basidiomycota
  • Class: Agaricomycetes
  • Order: Polyporales
  • Family: Fomitopsidaceae
  • Genus: Phaeolus
My interests
  • 🍲 Eating cellulose
  • 🧶 Dyeing yarn
  • 🎵 The sound of wood splintering
  • 🍃 Dispersing my spores via wind
  • 🏞️ Exploring new countries
  • 🌲 Meeting new conifer
  • 🏚️ Bringing about slow decay into ruin
  • 🧵 Knitting
My life story:

I was once a windborne spore without a care in the world before I got hitched to my current ex. Thankfully his heart finally gave out. I've been in New Zealand for only a handful of decades, hopping between other 'exotic' species - all disappointing. :/ I’m looking for a toxic, long-term relationship. Until death do us part - I mean it!

Some of my talents are:

Bonding to invasive conifer and loving them dead. And also dyeing wool! Check out what you can create from my dye (it's a gnome~!)

Green flags I look for:

Conifers that have been through hell ;) Soil compaction, flooding, fire, wounds - I don't care if you're a larch, a spruce, or a pine, I'm into it!

A fun fact about my name:

My last name refers to my Polyporales heritage, which are known for forming large fruiting bracket- or shelf-like bodies. We're a tough woody bunch! I'm a Basidiomycota on both my father's and my mother's side - if you're not into getting freaky I'm not the one for you.

My anthem
YOUR anthem ❤️
